We’re back in the pool. Let’s get excited!
It’s hard to create excitement around training, especially when meets are not yet on the calendar. That’s why we’re asking our coaches, athletes, and members to share their creative approaches to training.
What are you doing to encourage your team to stay engaged, have fun, and get the most out of every training session? We want to know. Share your ideas with office@azswimming.org and we’ll add them to this post for all to see. Let’s work together to keep ALL of our athletes motivated and excited to be back in the pool!

GOING THE EXTRA MILE CHALLENGE
On June 6, 2020, Swim Neptune Senior Team swimmers, Keaton Jones, Devin Esser and Tal Spector, Coach Joe Zemaitis, and his brother John Zemaitis, will all individually attempt 25 miles of swimming in 24 hours. At the start of every hour, for 24 hours straight – through the day and night, one mile must be completed until they reach 25 miles – “Going the Extra Mile!”
Two Swim Neptune relay teams will also attempt this feat, one swimmer at a time. This will test their endurance, mental fortitude, and their ability to stand up tall in the face of physical and mental exhaustion. All swimmers and support staff will be adhering to CDC guidelines for social distancing. All of the swimmers want to promote swimming as the safe and healthy sport that it is! Learn more here.
